1968 stepper swb
Hello everyone I am new to this forum, I've looked and read many of the threads to help me on my build but now I figured I can get in and ask some questions and maybe answer some to help. well this is were im at on my build, I been working on this truck for 2 years now and doing a frame off. This truck has been in the family since I was a kid. My dad gave to me when I was 17 back in the 90's. We started a father/son build but lost Him in June of this year now its on me to get this build complete for him and I. The chassis is pretty much all done just a few things to go. Im on the engine now and almost done. I will add pictures later. but i do have a question lots of the threads i read were very old and im on the look out for some headers that will have good clearance at frame rails. the engine is a 1975 454 bb mark IV, Im using the 1975 motor mounts. I know that with some i will need to notch out some of the frame but just wanting to look for the best option.

Re: 1968 stepper swb
Welcome to the forum. Sorry about your dad. I suggest looking at Sanderson BB8’s, they are your best option not requiring any frame mods. Although I’m not sure about those 1970’s engine stands.

Re: 1968 stepper swb
The factory big block 68-71 mounts are great, just not super cheap. The stands are $75+ a pair and mounts start at about $70 each. Now that I think about it, the BB8’s are supposed to fit trucks thru 87 so yours may work fine.
