Help with heater control

OK here is the heater control that is in my 66. I need a fan switch and this is the only one I have seen that looks like this and I have had no luck figuring out what to put in it for a switch. It has three wires off of it and I have those plugged into the factory 4 wire connector. Has been good the last 5 years or so but now it works about 10% of the time. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jimmy

Re: Help with heater control

I have no idea what it may be from. It has all the correct brackets for the dash support and the defrost hose and all the levers work like they should. Sad thing is I had a couple of complete deluxe heater controls and sold them. The only one I have left is a GMC. May just have to buy one if I cant figure out the switch.

Re: Help with heater control

I have been just searching mid 60's heater control switches and found an impalla switch that looks close. Ordered on and will give it a try. Still would like to know what this one is.

Re: Help with heater control

I wonder if this is an export? I've never seen one of those before either. I know that doesn't help but I'm really curious about where this came from.

Re: Help with heater control

The knobs do look like they are from a 59 car after looking at the ones in the truck and car shop catalog. Now the heater control is another story and i am sure someone will know what it is.

Re: Help with heater control

Wouldn't be the heater resistor giving you problems would it ?

Re: Help with heater control

I tested the switch and the low speed is bad. I have the new switch and if I get some time today I will pull the heater control out and see if it will fit. I Think the resistor is good and I have another one if needed. The big question here is what did the control I have come out of? Only one I have see and seems like it is a bit mystery.

Re: Help with heater control

Got the switch put in and it was not a direct fit but it did work. Looking at this control and the way it was made i think it may be an aftermarket part. Maybe for a AC kit? Got two out of the three speeds working and the resister is bad on one. Will change it next chance I have to work on the truck.

Re: Help with heater control

I got one for ya that's Not a GM part.Reason why i know where is the the Bow Tie even if that was GMC it would have GMC on the black Face.On all of the GM heater switches they had ether the GMC in small letters or the Bow Tie.Its a really nice one One that some of us wish GM did do it that way with the top Bower switch at the top

That is a Fantastic Idea I hope this was not a 1 year or a prototype.Cut that thing is Sweet do not sell it keep it see if you can get it to work

Re: Help with heater control

64 Falcon uses controls 'like' that. What does the switch look like from the back-side? Could it be off a South American version?

The "layout' is also similar to the latter Nova - https://www.classicindustries.com/product/6273372c.html
