Re: WTB 4x4 shock mount bracket needed
Have seen that on a lot of 60-62 shock mounts like that, why not clean up that weld? Never understood the reason for the pin like that for shock

Yeah that's probably why they got rid of it in '63.. Like to find a clean one if I can.

Re: WTB 4x4 shock mount bracket needed
I could be wrong but that really looks like the upper from 55-59 Chevy Pickups. without measuring might be wrong but might be worth checking out.

Makes sense, this is 60-62 so could be carried over from 59.

Re: WTB 4x4 shock mount bracket needed
I have one from a 55-59 . Have pics on my phone if you pm. $35. They are a mess to get off. Price reflects laying on back with torch. Thanks

Re: WTB 4x4 shock mount bracket needed
That's stamped steel, not cast, right?
Why not cut it back apart, through the weld, then re-weld it correctly, and reinforce/gusset it while your'e there? If you're going to remove it from the frame anyway, unless you're going to re-rivet it, it won't be "concours correct," so you could weld a half-round of tubing to the back of it, and we'd the ends of the tubing to the bottom side of the frame rail, and make it really strong. (I'll be doing that on my '62 K10 frame...)
