I went with a custom PST aluminum driveshaft. 4l80E to a Ford 9”. All 1350 series joints used. I abuse this thing so I upgraded.

Re: Driveshaft - lsx swap

dennys makes some nice one..not cheap though....https://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/
will depend a lot on hp/rpm...id recommend calling him to discuss your options
alum will have to be a larger dia...so if space is a problem that may not be a good choice

stock street/fun. So probably no need for aluminium and trans is high in tunnel so maller diameter will help also.

300hp ...... etc

Re: Driveshaft - lsx swap

thanks guys
Ill check out PST and Dennys. PST is close to me ... so that would be useful but not the first time Ive heard Dennys either .....

thinking I'll just go with like 2/2.5" DOM steel unless some reason not to.

Re: Driveshaft - lsx swap

Diameter is determined by hp/rpm/yoke size...call the denny..he'll tell you what you need...even if you use someone else it'd be worth talking to him...2/2.5in is way small for a rear shaft...
The one on mine is 3in...

I’m at this stage also. Is it cool to ask a ballpark price on that kit?

Not really a kit I ordered all components for about 150-160 bucks. If you order call Denny and tell him what you have to make sure you get the correct components. I also got my Transmission Slip Yoke from them but I deducted that from the price.

Re: Driveshaft - lsx swap

You can buy the parts cut them to length and let a local shop weld and balance. The yokes fits inside the tube very snug they will stay put for mock up.

I do everything myself whenever possible because I don't trust over the phone measurements. When ever possible I mock up everything, even if I take it to someone for finishing I like to see it works.
