Help!! Looking for a Quadrajet part for a rebuild
Hey all
I need an idle compensator assembly and the cover for it with the two screws (last part is optional). I can't seem to find one on the net, so I thought you guys might be able to help a fellow trucker in need. Got cash. Let me know here's the link to an exploded pic of a q-jet and all it's parts. http://www.carbs.net/quadrajet2.asp The parts I need are numbered on the site and they're #'s are: 27- Screw - Cover Attaching 28- Cover - Idle Compensator 29- Idle Compensator Assy. let me know if this helps. If not e-mail me @ damnfine69@netzero.com Thanks, Rusty

i will look to see if i have the parts on the carb i had rebuilt from my 86 with a q jet and a 4.3 now i paid $50 to get this carb rebuilt not long ago plus $50 for the kit and they didnt do it right the electrical thing in there is alledgedly messed up. if i have these parts id want to recoup a good portion of my money here and shipping, or i might just keep it for the 305 i have here, what is your thoughts too expensive? only other thing i can suggest is if i go junkyarding and see one ill try to grab ya parts but i have no clue when thats gonna be

old Rusty C10 I appreciate you willing to pull apart a complete carb for a fellow trucker, but I wouldn't be willing to pay a good portion of that and make you piece out a complete carb. In my opinion it's a lose lose situation for both of us. You'd be out a carb indefinetly and I'd be overbudget on the rebuild. But I seriously appreciate the effort. I was just posting this in case anyone had any junker carbs laying around with that particular part on it, and it wouldn't them any to let it go. I'm not looking for a freebie or anything, Just not looking to pay more than I've already spent on the carb already. Also, I'm currently laid out from an on the job injury, so I can't go junking right now. I would ask, but I don't wanna put you out. I'll just wait till I get better and hit the yards up myself. I just wanted to have this thing done before I went back to work. The idle time's killing me and this project is just giving me something to do to kill the boredom. Anyways, enough of my life story.
Thanks anyways Rusty.
