ATHS National Convention & Show Videos
I'll start off with the '15 Convention at York, PA. I helped park the last trucks in the last possible spaces. It was down to squeezing in El Caminos!

Re: ATHS National Convention & Show Videos
Oh you did? I couldn't go. So you have that beautiful red ramp truck you did. I talked to you as you were about to leave the Tri-State show, I think, in '17. You were backed in against the fence right next to the lane in from the north. I hope I run into you again. The Mason-Dixon chapter has our show on the first Sunday in May at Gladhill Tractor Mart (JD) at the top end of US340 in Jefferson, MD. It's combined with a tractor show & pull. Not too bad a show if it doesn't rain. A bit far for you, but not real bad.

Re: ATHS National Convention & Show Videos
Yeah. I drive an unrestored white '72 GMC K2500 Sierra i use like it's the '70s (except winter).
Just over the hill from you in Rileyville, where my sister lives: That was the morning I was heading to that Tri-State show in Coldbrook in '17. Here ya go. This is your truck, right? I guess it was '16 when I talked to you... and took the picture

Re: ATHS National Convention & Show Videos
Thanks. The rusted rockers probably bother you, being a body man. they bother me, too, but I run it all summer and it needs to be a winter project. It's obvious you do good work.
My great grandmother was a Saum. The house my granmom was born in still stands proudly in Saumsville. Granmom was born a Bell, married a Hicks (my name). If I'm in the area I'll stop by to bug you, just to say hi. Wouldn't want to hold a man up doing his job for long. Like my buddy's sign in his shop says, "If you have nothing better to do, go do it somewhere else" Ha Ha Ha!

Re: ATHS National Convention & Show Videos
i like patina as well as restored, sometimes the effort of restorations prevents us from actually just driving and enjoying our trucks as they are . my other truck is a ten year old project that stalled, moved twice in baskets, and just now getting a second wind. been much better off fixing brakes and riding.

Re: ATHS National Convention & Show Videos
Yep, pretty much why mine's not restored yet. I get guys telling me "You need to restore that thing" and I come back with "Why?". I could say more, like "How about you buy one and restore it?". I have said "Been there done that. I'm enjoying driving this one". I have been there with many trucks. Get one done and start worrying about messing it up, where you can leave it, butt heads tapping into it, scratches in the bed... I would like to get another truck for the ladder racks and just use it to run it when I want to. When I restore it I'd like to put a low-profile utility body on it and letter it up nice. I ran utility bodies on most of my work trucks

Re: ATHS National Convention & Show Videos
They are handy and a handsome unit behind the cab. I'm on the look out for one. The new ones have gone up steadily and are very expensive now. I used Reading bodies and parts are easy to get. We had a truck body place here in Mt. Airy up until the recession. I was hooked up pretty well with them. I was the guy who bought new bodies for old Chevys. They pretty much just did new truck upfitting
