Info on passenger bucket seat lift lever

Installing utility buckets that PO had removed in favor of a bench...all the holes line up, no problem. Then I notice that because the seat folds forward, there are no fasteners holding the rear of the seat down. The lift lever and spring are present on the back of the seat, but appears to be missing part of the mechanism because the lever doesn’t disconnect the seat from anything and there’s nothing putting tension on the spring, it’s just sitting in a bracket. Will post pics of my own seat tomorrow, the pic below is a reference to show the lever I am referring to. Any insight as to what this is supposed to look like?

There s/b a bracket bolted to the floor, with a hole in it to latch the lever that is bolted to the seat. I'll try to post up a pic tomorrow

Could the missing/needed floor bracket be the below type circled in red? Mel

I assume that the bracket mounts to the floor so that the pointed piece (circled) sits in it. So what does the lever connect to?

Here are photos of my actual seat. One shows the spring mechanism, obviously missing some kind of part. What does the lever actually release from?

Looks like you’re missing the pin that actually locks the seat down. It’s circled in the pic above. It is linked to the lever and is under spring tension. It sits perpendicularly to the pin that you have circled. Once the vertical pin is in the floor bracket, the one you’re missing latches under the floor bracket locking the seat in place.

It is missing the pin that runs through the spring that is attached to the lever via compression pin. It latches in the side of the floor mounted pice to secure the seat in the closed position.

In case I need to figure out a way to reproduce this...so there is a rod running through the spring (circled)? If I were to make the part, could I just make it a pin that runs through the spring inside the bracket, or is the rest of the rod on the end functional somehow?

So does anybody know what year or option came with the seat release lever with the hoop, allowing the seat to be released from the side? That’s a nice feature. My 71 Jimmy Super Custom doesn’t have it.

I think all utility buckets had them sport buckets don't.
