Re: AMT 60's
No, didn't know about it. I love it! The picture looks like a short bed, is it? They did come out with one back a while, but the original was a long bed (I know you know). So you got the box with a Chevy picture! Pretty funky back then with box art being hit or miss with picture of actual vehicle. This is early AMT, just after SMJ

Re: AMT 60's
Yea its a shortbox, just a different box art issue of this I assume but they did throw in a cool go cart kit.
and yea my original is a long box. It could use a good rebuild but I wouldn't be able to afford a mint unbuilt version of that one. And yes it a SMP Scale Model Products. Here are a few other future projects: I haven't yet taken to leap to pull the factory cellophane off the Boondocker yet. and a completed project: Someday its going to get converted to a fleetside longbox. My Dad had a 66 that color back in the mid to late 70's. It drug alot of 57 Chevy cars home back then till it lost its 283 to put in my 57 2 door hardtop in 1980. |

Re: AMT 60's
That is a sweet build. Why not just build another? That one is so nice it would be a shame. Not telling you what to do, though.
I went to the Boyertown Antique Car Museum (PA) a couple weeks ago, then slipped into a hobby shop in town after. I saw this new issue '60 shortbed and got all excited about buying it. That was until I saw they wanted $35 for it. No thanks, that is high. It's bad enough that these reruns are going for $25-ish. I didn't like that this shop varied pricing kit by kit based on what they felt was most popular. I see that as gouging and refuse to play their game. I must say they had a very full stock. But I can see how they manage that, too.
