Power steering pump
I am trying to mount the power steering pump and I am having problems . I have the stock cast bracket with the steel plate that has the adjustable slot and mounts to motor mount. I have one stud on the back of the pump that the bottom bracket mounts to. Should their be another stud for the adjusting slot? Can some one post a pic of how the brackets fit on the pump ? This is for 71 sbc .Thanks

Re: Power steering pump
Here are some pictures of the back side of my power steering pump. Maybe this will help. The pump pivots off the lower bolt.

Re: Power steering pump
Tanks for the pic . My pump just has the bottom stud . It does not have one for the upper slot in the bracket. I guess ill have to fab something up.

Re: Power steering pump
The bottom pivot fastener isn't a stud. It's a long bolt that goes through the pump body and bracket and held with a "pinch" nut, or a nut with a lock washer. The only stud on the back of the pump goes through the adjusting slot. I have the exact same setup on my 1972 GMC C15 with a 350.
