I'm going from 6 lug to 5 lug brakes.

I need to get find some 5 lug ---15 inch wheels

What offset will work best with a 15 X 7 wheel

The ones on my 66 are 3" i think. It is 6 lug still with front disc so that part is the same.

I usually go with a 0 offset on a 7" or 8" wide wheel.

Depending on how much tire you want to fit under your truck, you have some flexibility on backspacing. That said, if you want to maximize the tire under your truck, that is, move the tire inboards as much as possible, a backspace of around 4 3/4" is about as much as you can go. This will depend a little on your tire selection, wheel diameter, and brake system.

If you know the backspace of your present wheels, crawl under the truck and measure how much room you have to move the tire/wheel inwards or outwards. Be sure to go lock to lock. You'll get a good idea of what you can fit.

Backspace is measured from the (outer) lip of the inboard side of the wheel to the mounting face of the wheel. To measure, place a ruler that spans the inboard wheel lip and then with a second perpendicular ruler, measure the distance of that ruler to the wheel mounting face.

4" back spacing on a 15" wheel will the lower control arm if you go to 2 1/2" drop spindles. That is why I am running 3". So the overall plan for the suspension will affect the wheel choice.

I currently have disc brakes on my 64 (stock height spindles)

I have ordered a set of 2 1/2 inch drop modular spindles from CPP, as I want to lower the front end.

The current wheels & tires fit fine.

Presently I'm running :

Tire 225/60/15

Wheel 15x7 --- 6x5.5 bolt pattern ---3.5 backspace (-9.00 offset) 4.252 ? 108 mm center bore

Will the addition of the drop spindles introduce any wheel or tire issues ??

Also if I install 1'or 2" drop springs in addition to the drop spindles, will I need to order drop shocks, and shock relocation brackets.
