Starter Problems
Having trouble with the starter on the 383 in my 69, the starter sounds fine while cranking but when the motor fires and runs the starter drive stays ingaged in the ring gear for a few seconds after releasing the key.
I tried a new starter and it does the same thing, I have tried shimming the starter out but it still does it, any ideas?

I bypassed the ignition switch and that wasnt it.
rage'nrat, you may be right, the teeth look good on the flexplate but I have had trouble ever since installing this engine and have allways blamed the starter.
