Will a steering wheel from a 91 chevy bolt up to a 68 chevy?

almost every 67-72 i see has one of these wheels. everybody ptus them in their truck.

Still ot my 17 inch monster wheel. I really don't want anything smaller without a quicker ratio steering box. Just my opinion.

That's why they make power steering. My big old belly gets in the way of that big steering wheel!

i've got an old grant i think ..its wood but its also looking really sad ... the PO put it on...how hard is it to change steering wheels ...... any tips

The process is simple, but it may be a booger just getting the old wheel off. Longhorn Man has a pic of how to make your horn work, but I just do without one. Changing the wheel is just a matter of taking a clip and nut off the end of the shaft and using a puller to pull the wheel.

When you take your wheel off,,,, Take the nut and washer off, grab the wheel and pull and Jerk, like he**,, Then when it comes off in your face and danged near knocks you out,, You will see why I DON'T do it that way,(anymore)

I put the puller on held tension on it with a wrench and beat the pi$$ out of the end of the puller with a 3 pound maul to get it off. I almost pulled the bolts in half.

I did this at teh Ohio board meet. My head slammed into the back window, and then the wheel slamed into my forhead. Damn near passed out.

If you leave the center nut on a few threads, it dosen't come off like someone shot it out of a cannon!!

71-longbed if you have a grant wheel on there it will most likely have an adapter on it. Go down but a grant wheel that you like and put it on rael easy. Remove horn button,take off steering wheel nut(big one in the center) then remove the 3 little one's and wheel will fall off. Also if you have a horn disconnect the little wire..

Hey Ron, I once did the same thing with the wheel when I was 15, except when it came off it hit me in the bridge of the nose, and I think that it broke it there was blood going everywhere and I almost passed out.

I still have a bump on my nose from that, I learned my lesson the hard way, I now use a puller or leave a couple of threads on it when I don't have a puller!!

Actually, I did leave the nut on a few threads.
Helpfull hint, sometimes, a FEW threads are not enough. That nut flew off and landed in the grass.

i still have the stock wheel...when I drive I say I'm "at the helm" not "in the driver's seat" lol :p

i still have a couple inches clearance below the wheel too, and i'm no small guy (6'4" 250 lbs).
