They will also work in the rear set of holes too. Just puts it closer to the firewall. JIM

I was looking to see how the V8 towers would bolt up to the rear. Do I have to drill the bottom hole? Switch the towers or something because it doesnt line up. (btw, it had a L6 originally) jay

jay-dawg, You small block towers will not line up in the rear set of holes without drilling. Also if you are going to run an HEI ignition, you don't want to place your engine there anyway. I just puts the distributer too close to the firewall. You have your truck completely torn down, so I would set the engine in the correct possition. (In the forward holes) It will be easier to work on and won't be so obviouse that your truck was formerly a 6 cylinder. The only flies in the ointment would be if you are going to a standard transmission. Because then you will need a V-8 bell housing crossmember in order for it to line up. The other fly is wether or not you go to an automatic or not, when you place the enging in the forward holes you will have to have a longer driveline made. Thanks for the info Wes.
I'll be running the LT1 in it with the 4l60e. The shaft needs to be redone anyway since (i think) that the splines on the shaft going into the transmission are wrong. But I think you are right. I'll keep it in the front holes. Thanks, Jay
