Noisy DBW Throttle Body
I'm trying to wrap up my swap and started it for the first time last weekend. I noticed that when I turn my key into the run position, my DBW throttle body powers up or engages loudly. The engine, tac and peddle came from the same truck. I drove that truck for 6 months and never really heard it before.
Any thoughts? |

Re: Noisy DBW Throttle Body
It's normal for them to make some noise when you first turn them on. How loud is it?

Re: Noisy DBW Throttle Body
If you have the air intake off you can here it pretty good . This is normal . It does a little quick test open and close to check to see if there is a problem with the tb binding . If it detects a slight resistance it will throw a code and will not open the tb after starting the engine .
This is GM fail safe test so you dont have a stuck open tb and a run away engine . |

You can here it at the very beginning of the video posted to my ig account: https://www.instagram.com/the_not_asian_caucasian/ To me it's as loud as a starter engagement. But, you can put your hand on the tb and it's definitely it. |

Thats perfectly normal. Its a sound you really get used to when tuning them, as evey time you load a new calibration it cycles the computer.
