How do I make the TBSS maf fit my lq4

I just swapped a lq4 into my 68 gmc. I used a PSI wiring harness for the swap. The plug on the harness was too small for the stock MAF so I went and bought a MAFS from a trailblazer ss. The TB MAFS is slightly larger and the rubber gasket won’t work to connect the MAFS to the throttle body. Is there a part to adapt the larger MAF to the stock LQ4 ?

Did you get a harness specifically for your lq4? And did you get the lq4 maf....my plug is about 1in wide....I'm not sure what size couplers you need...but look at spectre...they have all sorts of adapters and sleeves

Re: How do I make the TBSS maf fit my lq4

if I am not mistaken MAF are hertz specific. I mean that each kind have different tuning settings in the tune. Different years, different motors, different MAF ,different ECM’s etc.
so changing to a different MAF because the connector on your harness is different May pose addition problems when trying to run the engine.
I looked at changing the MAF due to size and found out that changing the connector on my harness was pretty easy...changing to a different MAF would create tuning problems.

Maybe you found an easy way to address this issue. If so please share I was be greatful!

Re: How do I make the TBSS maf fit my lq4

I started it with the new MAF and it seems to run great. I did find a connector from spectre that will adapt it to the throttle body. It seems to be a non issue now.

Have you checked the fuel trims? Short and longs? What part number MAF did you use? What year lq4 and TBSS engines?
Glad it worked for you. I didn’t want to buy the different MAFs and plugs just to find out it would work or not.
