67 Stepside - Air bagged Chasis & Ls swap "ARGENTINA BUILD"
Well after much thought its time to start my build thread......I'm from Argentina, so please be patient with my English.
My truck is a 1967 C10 that came originally with an inline 6. In Argentina, this was the only available engine, sadly no V8 here. We've started this project 4 years ago with the idea to build a patina truck. Things escalated quickly as you will see in the photographs. I've changed four engines since we've started (283-327-350-L99), three transmissions (powerglide-th400-4l80e), and countless other things. The final idea (I hope) is to build a bagged street c10. 18" wheels in the front and 20" in the back with a decent tire. We've built a chassis from scratch, we are using air ride shockwaves, accuair management, willwood brakes, etc. The powerplant is stock a L99 engine. Here are some photos of the process, I hope you enjoy the project as much as I do. I want to hear you're comments!! |

Looking forward to it C10ARG! Post a ton of pictures of your work please, it will help others stay encouraged. These builds often are much more work and time consuming (myself included) than the average guy anticipates.
By the way your grammar and vocabulary are excellent, frankly much better than us locals!

Certainly, this project snowballed into a much bigger endeavor. As I said before I´ve changed four engines, three transmissions and 3 wheelsets hahaha
I will start posting photos of the process. Here are some photos of the custom chassis we did for the truck. Last edited by C10ARG; 04-23-2019 at 03:12 PM. |

The first thing we've changed was the engine. The truck came with a 283 but we've decided to change it to a 327 with a dual quad setup.
The chasis will be built from scratch to allow the extreme drop we are aiming for. We are using air ride shocks with accuair managment. |

Looks like a good start. I like the looks of the orange and black AD truck in the background getting a chassis.

Re: 67 Stepside - Air bagged Chasis & Ls swap "ARGENTINA BUILD"
Sorry guys for the delay. It´s been a few busy weeks at work.
The chassis is a full build from scratch. Here in Argentina, we don´t have the option to buy something already made like a Roadster shop chassis or a GSI. So we placed the cab on the table and we started to trace the components. We are making the 4 link system in the back using custom bushings and modifying a dana 44 housing with forged axle and a limited slip core. |
