Two position radiator mounting, I like it!
Finally started addressing a fan shroud for the radiator. My main issue was that the top hose was so close to the fan it was almost uncomfortable. I decided to look at the mounting of the radiator (I have never had any issues with it so never looked) and low and behold, there are two sets of holes to mount it!
I was not only able to raise it up enough to get the fan away from the hose and the shroud on comfortably, but also install the 3 bolts that it was missing attaching it to the core support! Win Win!

I like to be of Help this is to help if you have not Fixed your Brass and copper Radiators You can go to your local Radiator shop and have them Put a small snout so you can put the 1967 327 upper radiator hose on it it works out so much better an if you're running the Edelbrock alum intake manifold. You can run your temp sending switch on top of the intake. I like the straight out top radiator hose fitting do not use the one that curves to the left them are made for the 1969 and above trucks. I like running 1960--68 chevy small block have a look |

Thanks for the tips. I have it pretty sorted and will post pictures after I get the shroud mounted.

Re: Two position radiator mounting, I like it!
This is why I read all of these threads.
Two different people with priceless info. I am about to pull my straight 6 and install a long block crate engine. I don't have any of the accessories or mounting brackets yet. So I will be addressing this soon and now know about different hoses and different mounting positions for the radiator. Thank you both for the info! |
