Dog Dish Cap Restoration?
I have a set of 4 dog dishes for my '70 C10. They're OK, but they need some restoration. Anyone out there that can beat them straight and repaint for a reasonable cost? (would like not to have more in the caps than in the truck ).
Thanks!

I straighten out my hubcaps. We'd need to see what you have to give any advice. I wouldn't expect restoration to be cheap when it's not something everyone has the skill to do and the time involved. True restoration is all about time and skill. Don't worry, it won't be more than what you paid for your truck. If it is then you should have plenty of money for hubcap restoration

Re: Dog Dish Cap Restoration?
Here's an album with a picture of the set of 4, and two pictures of the one I consider to be the worst.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/AG4MXuSQoYc6X4sk7 I was going to upload these, but with the 642 max width, a lot of detail is lost. Thanks!

Re: Dog Dish Cap Restoration?
Those caps look pretty good to me if they are for a driver quality truck . You can still occasionally find very nice ones too on the parts board but I personally would run those as is .

Re: Dog Dish Cap Restoration?
This is what they're going on. Almost done, need one more coat of varnish on the bed wood (I will NEVER do that again...) and then mount it, install the inner fender wells, and mount the rear lights.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/P9wmXDGroUnPX7we9 It's not a show truck, but I don't think the caps are quite up to spec, compared to the rest of the truck.

Now that changes things , yes they need to be nicer for that truck . Very nice and I love the color . Still those caps should be fairly easy to restore yourself.

Re: Dog Dish Cap Restoration?
I had the stainless half ton hubcaps off of a 73-76 I wanted the painted hubcaps so I blasted them all. All 4 of them on the visible side only shot them in semi gloss black then masked them then shot them in GM Summit White and F**d blue bowtie not sure if I'll clear them or not. I'll upload pics later
