Wing/vent windows

Is there any difference between Chevrolet and GMC vent windows in 1967 and can they interchange with 1968-1972. Both mine need to be replaced and I’m looking for new ones but it’s hit and miss.

Re: Wing/vent windows

There are no difference between 67 GMC and 67 Chevy vent windows.

There are a couple difference’s between 68-72 from the 67 vent windows.

The handle’s are different

Glass fits inside the the chrome trim in the 67 style as the 68-72 has a hole threw the glass for the handle to go through.

Both wing windows will fit in 67-72 doors both chevy and GMC but if you have a 67 they are specific for that year.

They also made them in chrome and black finishes.

First pic is 68-72 type

Second pic is 67 ONLY type

NOTE: both GMC & Chevrolet are the same...hope this helps

I got mine from LMC - Not inexpensive but work fantastic - http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=69

Re: Wing/vent windows

Thanks for all the help on this, each site I looked at had different year ranges for effectively what sounds like the same glass. Now I know what to look for and get that is 67 specific. Thanks again everyone

Re: Wing/vent windows

Rods,
So a 68-72 vent window assembly will fit a 67 door shell?
Need to know because I have a 72, but am very close to buying a 67 passenger door shell to replace my 72 door shell that is shot.
Just want to make sure.
Thanks!
Terry

It’ll fit but the 67 door won’t have the wing window screw dimple in the door that the 72 only doors have.

Re: Wing/vent windows

Thanks Kingsolver for verifying. Appreciated.
From my research on the Forum, I did know about that dimple, not being in the 67 door shell, for a screw to help strengthen the vent window assembly.
I think it was added in 1972?
