VIN Help
Getting ready to buy a 1972 GMC Sierra Grande, the vin is
CE234-S132178 Reading the decoders the 4 in CE234 should indicate Model year.....this is a 1972? |

No, that VIN indicates a 70-71 GMC 3/4 ton fleetside 2WD V8 truck.

Chevy and gmc have different types of VIN numbers. You need to go look at a gmc decoder,

A 72 GMC VIN is preceded by a T, so that rules out a 72.
C = 2WD E= V8 2=3/4 ton 34=70-71 fleetside. S=St Louis plant 1=71 model year Look at 3rd picture on 1st post of the other thread you posted the question in. |
