Build a V-8 S-10 in a week

I'm trying to help a good friend of mine sell his truck. As you can see the poor little truck got wrecked. My friend is a 70 year old Army vet who unfortunately broke his back in the accident. I rescued the truck from the wrecker service and brought it home. The truck was a solid runner with a World Product headed 388" small block. 700R4 transmission and a 3.70 geared 9" rear with disc brakes. It had working air and everything. We have turned the motor over by hand and everthing turns freely. We were going to attempt to start it but the frame killed the starter. The motor mounts are rubber so the absorbed the hit and nothing appears to be bent. The passenger side header may be messed up but everything else seems to have survived pretty well. Take a look at the pics and feel free to PM me with any questions. We are asking $3500 for it with the title.[IMG][/IMG]

Re: Build a V-8 S-10 in a week

Does anyone want to make an offer on this truck? I would like to see my friend get something back on his investment. Lots of good parts there.

Looks like it was a nice truck, hope someone can reuse most of it.

And I hope your friend is on the road to recovery!

Re: Build a V-8 S-10 in a week

Thanks cxune. I thought I had it sold for $2500 two weeks ago. Shook hands on the deal the the guy texted me and said all they can do is $2000. All I could say was we shook on it. All I'm trying to do is help my friend. I haven't told him yet. People suck.

Re: Build a V-8 S-10 in a week

I still have this truck at my house. It is still up for sale. If anyone is interested please let me know. My friend is doing ok but will never be the same. I would like to get him something out of it if possible.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Sorry Scoti I meant to post that the truck finally sold. I got him a couple grand for it in the end. That was better than it sitting outside for another winter.

Ahh.... No problem. Was browsing through some of my older posts & saw that one. I didn't 'need' a full drivetrain but thought if the short block was quality parts I might make the investment.

How's he doing by the way?

He's doing pretty good for all he's been through. He's lucky the Spinal stroke he had didn't leave him in a wheelchair for good. He has limited mobility mostly due to pain. Thanks for asking. Now he keeps saying he wants to ride his Harley again. I keep dodging that one.
