55.2 Fan shroud?
Hi all, this is my first post.
I have a 1955.2 Chevy 1/2 ton with the 235 six cylinder engine. It has the correct OEM radiator. The truck did not come with an engine fan shroud, and I noticed what look like mounting holes on the sides of the radiator frame. Should it have a shroud? If so, any suggestions on where to find one? (Seems I can find repro shrouds for the V8 trucks, not the L6.) Thank you! |

Re: 55.2 Fan shroud?
Most of the 1/2 ton Chevy trucks did not have a fan shroud. I have found shrouds on GMC's and on one ton and larger Chevys.

Re: 55.2 Fan shroud?
Do you have the X brace on the support? If not, there's 4 holes that would be open. Others possibly would be for clipping. Pictures could possibly help.

Some of the original pickups did come with a 6 cylinder fan shroud . It is very narrow as the 6 cylinder puts the fan very close to the radiator. They are kind of hard to find when you are looking for one. Not so hard when you are not . Hah. Good luck. |
