Orig Qwner 72 SB 4x4 CA Blk Plates
Hey guys! Thought you would like to see Solo Speed Shop's New Ride!
Got very lucky to have the chance to buy such a nice truck from Original owner! Tom ordered this truck and purchased it in Sept of 71 So it has CA black Plates if registered in Jan of 72 it would have CA Blue plates How many guys out there own a 72 W/ Orig CA Black plates? Anyway truck is a Custom Deluxe It also has the paint stripe from factory! 350 Auto AC PS Super original! Just a nice hard truck to find! Tks Bill |

The only 72 I ever had that had Black plates Came out of Lincoln CA Which I believed was because it was registered at a rural DMV That didn’t go through their license plate inventory quickly Eric |

Hi! Orig bill of sale protecto plate and Tom has a lil note book w/ every thing he ever did to truck! I said Tom how old are tires? Well lets look in the book
Um tires are 29 years old (okay I better trailer it) Yes its been on non op since 2011 Tom exhaust looks brand new! It is! Tom you just put it on? Oh no its new as I never drove it and truck garaged its whole life! When did you put exhaust on? Lets look in the book 2009 You gotta love buying a original owner truck! Tks Bill |

I dig the chrome reverse wheels w/caps. What a time capsule. Very nicely optioned. So this is supposed to be original paint? I wonder what the story is on no lower side or tailgate trim that would have been included with the Custom Deluxe option. Great accessories, including the push bar and cap (topper/canopy/shell). I see he jazzed it up with Cheyenne side markers and seat cover. Nice SWB!

He said he sat down with salesman and special ordered truck! Yes all original paint except hood he worked at DWP and they scratched hood in early 70s and it was repainted! First thing I asked why no spicer hubs? He said make sure I get the Chrome hubs & salesman put down chrome Caps & truck came with no hubs & the chrome caps he said return it and order another one they put on the warn hubs He bought the rims at dealership before he took it home! He took delivery Sept 17 1971 so pretty early 72 He did say no moldings but didn't ask for the stripe I'm guessing that's the way it comes if molding delete! Guessing!!!! Tks Bill |

And since you asked.... my '72 was built in the Fremont plant in Aug. 1971 and still has the black plates.

What an awesome truck, the paint stripe is one of my favorite options.
Body side moldings were not a part of the “Custom Deluxe package”. They would have been an option on there own. Your truck is correct just as you see it.
