Tailgate Rubber Bumpers

I have a 1978 Big 10 that the previous owner installed new repop bed sides from LMC. Most of the rubber bumpers everywhere on the truck were either missing or rock hard so I ordered replacements for a 1978. The top bumper for the tailgate is a small round bumper that inserts into a hole but my bed sides have a large rectangular opening with a screw hole at the bottom as shown in the photo. Do I need bumpers from a newer model to fit there and will they work properly? Thanks.

Sorry for the sideways photo.

Thanks for the photo, that looks like it will work. What about the rest of the weatherstrip? Is that something GM added or is that just some you added to make it more weatherproof?

That is actually a tailgate seal, aftermarket probably. But since I have the bed rug, it help keep it weatherproof/dry. It also has helped quiet the Tailgate noises.
