LMC vs. RockAuto

I need new fuel filler hoses. I'm shocked but not surprised that the same part is three times more expensive from LMC. Lol

I was looking at these a month ago when I dropped both my tanks, but ended up not replacing them.

Also, I noticed you’re from Yuma... I spent the first 27 years of my life in Yuma

I've spent the past 30 years in Yuma and I've come to hate it. Hopefully that will change soon.

YPG I assume? I spent 16 years there before transferring to MCAS. I agree that the best side of Yuma is seen in the rearview mirror.

Good luck gettting Rockauto to ship to your address. Ever since this sales tax thing for internet purchases. Rockauto gives me a message saying shipping is not available due to sales tax and not having a physical address in my state. I used to love buying parts from rockauto but can not anymore.

Looks like Rockauto charged me sales tax on shipping too. Jegs and Summit want 2.5% more then what my local rate really is. Whole tax thing is a mess, just started this month.

Re: LMC vs. RockAuto

It's smart to shop around to find the best prices and brands you want. Cheapest is not always best.

Rock Auto is great for a selection of brands. Always use a discount code, watch out for shipping costs.

LMC has a great catalog with really good illustrations. LMC also has some exclusive products. I support them occasionally even when someone else has a part cheaper just because I love that they are actually getting some parts repopped that others don't have.

Sometimes Amazon beats RockAuto when you account for shipping and the speed of getting your part is usually great.

Don't forget to check the local auto parts stores. I bought some brake drums for my K30 and the local NAPA beat everyone by 40 bucks a side!

Re: LMC vs. RockAuto

If you have Amazon Prime, check that too. I got all the parts for my front end rebuild there and free shipping.

Re: LMC vs. RockAuto

I forget where I bought the fill hose, but I bought the #5 vent hose from LMC last year because I couldn't find it anywhere else.

I have placed 5-6 orders with LMC since I bought my Square in 2014. Most of their prices are competitive, and the parts always seem to be high quality. I also like to support them because of their cool exploded view drawings.

But I buy a lot of stuff from RockAuto, too, like AC Delco, Motorcraft, Wagner, Moog, Bosch, and other name brands. Typically those parts are at least 30% cheaper than my local parts stores, including shipping. Wiper blades are a good example.
