1966 k10 Suburban Axle and Tcase swap advice needed
Hello guys, I recently picked up a 66 k10 suburban. It is missing the motor and various axle parts. I am wanting to know if I can either swap a complete 72 frame with auto trans and front and rear axles with disc brakes and power steering setup. Are these frames the same up until 72? Would I be better off to just swap out the axles and trans and t-case? Would it be best to use stock springs from 66 suburban or use the springs from the 72? If I don't use 72 axles what other years will work for this application? Thanks for the advice..

Welcome....
I'm going out on a limb and gonna say that the 72 frame wont "fit" the 66...at least not easily and with a lot of work... If the 66 frame is good then keep it....axles should work but you may have to move spring perches and shock mounts...I'd stay with the 66 springs unless the 72s are exactly the same... The power steering I dont know...youd just have to mock it up...start a build thread in the 61-66 forum...you'll get a lot more of those guys chiming in...and put up some pictures...

For power steering get 73 newer box and drag link.find capt fabs box to frame adapter he is a member on the 60 to 66 on this forum. 72 and newer axles should bolt right in.
