Help with NP205 to 4L60E adapter & shifter arm
In my swap to a 5.3L GEN III, I used Advanced Adapters for my NP205 to 4L60E. I am finding that my NP205 shifter arm will not bolt up to the new transfer case adapter. The original shifter arm bolt is a 7/16-14 while the new adapter bolt hole is much larger (1/2" or 9/16"). Have you guys run into this, and what have you done? I heard that maybe I need to use a newer T-case shifter arm and bolt. Suggestions please!!!

Re: Help with NP205 to 4L60E adapter & shifter arm
I think the shoulder is the same diameter for the 9/16 and 7/16 thread adapter bolts. Here's a couple places to get the shoulder bolts. Probably specs on the sites somewhere. A bit pricey, but if time is money then maybe not.

Re: Help with NP205 to 4L60E adapter & shifter arm
The shoulder is not the same for my 7/16-14 bolt. The shoulder is small and is about the same as thread diameter. That's the problem, I can't physically use a shoulder bolt where the shoulder is 7/16" and the thread diameter is now larger i.e. 9/16"; unless I use a stud or different shifter arm. Also, your first link does not work. Thanks.

Thanks for the help. Tomorrow I'll take some pictures of the shift arm and bolt, so you can see what I have.

Re: Help with NP205 to 4L60E adapter & shifter arm
So here is what I have for transfer case shifter arm. It looks like early style. So I punched out the inner bushing and sleeves. I bought one of the newer style 9/16" shoulder bolt and it fit perfect.
I punched out this bushing and plastic sleeves.

Another item is the linkage. Mine rattled and chimed, drove me nuts. I stamped plastic washers out of a plastic jug and stacked them to take up the slack where ever there's a cotter pin and washer. Now it's quiet and solid. Also, this may sound silly but I like the bends on your transfer lever. The knob will land next to your calf. You will only need to reach down a bit. Great lever IMO. j
