Lower Door Rust
Both of my doors (47 AD) have pretty good rust on the bottom INSIDE under the weather strip. Do they make a patch for the inside or is it better to get a different door? The damage is all along the bottom, and about 2" wide....

Re: Lower Door Rust
Better doors is your best bet...im gonna say that if you cut that part out, you may find even more rust to fix...
although I've seen several on here replace the entire bottom section of their doors... Is this the piece your needing?.... https://www.chevsofthe40s.com/detail..._Superior.html https://www.chevsofthe40s.com/detail..._Superior.html

Re: Lower Door Rust
I see Classic parts has them too and if memory serves right there are several Chevy truck parts outfits in and around Kansas City less than 100 miles from you.
https://www.classicparts.com/1947-54...tinfo/44-612L/ Repair vs replace = how good the rest of the door is and then how well you can cut/fit/weld and finish off the panel. Paying someone else to do the body work it is probably more prudent to pay a bit of a premium for a really nice door.

Re: Lower Door Rust
How many really nice doors are left out there?
I watched Model A Fords go through this same cycle of rust-free parts becoming ever more scarce until you had to assume that everything needed patching.

Re: Lower Door Rust
These wouldn't have been so bad, but the damage was hidden - for the most part. My Passenger side door also has a "Farmer Patch" on the outside, so I already have a replacement.
I guess I will look for a good(er) driver's side..... |

Re: Lower Door Rust
It's not that big of a deal to replace the rusted part. Take a look at my build I cut the doors to fix the rust.
