35 years later

Truck moved under it’s own power for the first time in 35 yrs , loading on trailer for final paint , then all the final chrome , wiring, lights . Yehaw.
We are taking it to upper New York for a road rally in May . Can’t do a real road test untill May , 6 ft of snow on the ground. I’ll hopefully have 2 weeks to shake it down before hitting the highway through Canada and then into NY .

Glad to hear it. I hope all goes well with getting it painted. 6' of snow in Michigan? You must mean total snowfall for the season

Re: 35 years later

Hope you get her done, lotta work for sure.

As for snow, I was in Munising last week, true dat This was the news a week ago and it's snowed a bunch since.

Almost every location in Michigan has received above average snowfall to date in this early part of the snow season. Some of the snow totals are mind boggling for early December.

Obviously the highest snow totals have been posted across the Upper Peninsula. Much of the northern half of the U.P. has received at least 2 feet of snow already. The highest seasonal snow total I’ve found is Chatham, MI, which is between Marquette and Munising and 10 miles from the Lake Superior shoreline. Chatham has already tallied 58.6 inches of snow.

Yep and even more in the Keweenaw area, I live in a higher elevation than Munising and Chatham and I’m always ahead snow wise than either place. Yes snow totals are way above normal already !

I understand your excitement. My project only took 21 years to finish. But well worth the wait.

Well , like many . Marriage , kids and building a business got in the way of the truck build. Of course out of site out of mind is also a major factor and relocating and starting over in my business also put things on hold.

Re: 35 years later

Here are some iPad/iPhone workarounds:

1. Try only posting one photo at a time. It's a file-size issue I believe.

2. On my Apple devices, I have used this process:

1st picture-Select the photo, press upload and wait until you see the attachment
before selecting another photo,

2nd picture-select next picture, press upload, wait to see the attachment of that
photo, before selecting another photo, and so on.

I hope this helps. We're excited to see it!

Re: 35 years later

Went over to the paint shop today , to help out . We test fitted the fenders and doors . Have some adjustment to make. . Had to raise front of cab 1/4” to get the gaps right at bottom of fender. Also so minor sheet massaging to make everything come out right. But should be in paint by end of next week and reassemble everything. I will try and get progress pic’s .

Later.
