305 & small block perf. parts
Ive got a 305 for sale with very low miles. has Eagle I-beam rods, KB 10:1 pistons (with 58cc heads) comp cams XE256 hyd cam, it is a i piece rear manin block. should be pulled apart & cleaned up before use. also have a pair of L-98 aluminum H.O. vette heads that were on the 305 with self aligning roller tip rockers & flamed centerbolt valve covers.thought there was a knock in the engine... turns out it was a serious header leak. heads have D shaped exhaust ports & the Dynomax headers I had were oval turns out the engine is fine,,, it ran very strong in my 86 Elcamino with 3.08 gear. John

heads are off, if it were me Id take it apart & clean. should be all it needs. the engine ran great & strong. sold the car without the engine. pulled the heads off last spring, because a guy wanted to look it over & wanted to see the KB pistons. He never called back. so there it is. I built it about a year & a half ago.

& heres the heads.. you can see rust on back side of valves. last spring I had the engine out of the car & had the short block @ my machine shop. we had a flash flood in May, flooded the car & the house & garage
thats how the valves got rust. the short block wasnt effected, it wasnt here.

its an 86 block with the 1 piece rear main non roller. I dont need any 4X4 stuff, need some odds & ends for my 75C-10 2wd though.
I need the plastc vent that goes over cowl, infront of the wipers, its a screen, should be able to find it for a few bucks at salvage yard. 3.73 gears for my 1/2 ton 12 bolt truck rear maybe a BB single plane intake a pair of nice headlight bezels like I said odds & ends. the motor really was strong. with the 3.08 posi in my 86 Elky it would barely chirp the tires from a dead stop, but by 2500 RPMS & a few feet out it would bust the 255/60s lose. & on the hiway, man for a lil 305 it sang. had a performer intake & a 570cfm holley on it.. I learend a lesson the hard way. dont use Dynomax headers with these heads. the heads are D port exhaust ports. I spent countless hours & $ trying to find an engine noise that turned out to be a header leak.

Im not sure what years that screen interchanges with 75, be cool if it is correct ( & any hardware that goes with it) my LMC book shows 75-76 is the same headlight bezelz...dont know how much differant 77-78 are, could be minor, not sure. not sure if I want a complete rear end or not. Thanks John

the rear end is the only thing
the rearend is the only thing that is out of a 78. i have a 73,75,2-78's,80,81 and 84 parts trucks. i will part the rear and pull the gears for you if you want to consider doing some trading. thanks john c.
