I got a new blower motor for my pickup.

Looks like the old one might come on out if I take the hood hinge assy off.

What input do you experienced 67-72 fellas have to make go smooth?

Generally the inner fender comes off and possibly the hood hinge.

Its tight but you can do it by just removing the hood hinge. I have done it twice. 1st blower motor was from a local autoparts and really noisy.

You can do it by just removing hinge. Did my 67 last week.

I will second the opinion of everyone here. I will say this though, time wise it does not matter. There is one nut or bolt in the very bottom that is very difficult to get too. The inner fender well pretty much blocks access to this point.

I always pull the inner fender. It just makes for a easier time IMHO and you will be able to inspect other areas at that point normally not visible. I like to know about those unseen issues beforehand.

Where did you get the motor from please. I'm going today and order one from Advance Auto. Along with a new squirrel cage as well.

I have swapped them without removing the inner fender but it's a little harder than if you do remove it.

As mentioned, Inner Fender and Hood Hinge. I would add to mark your hinge for position prior to removal. You will avoid having to readjust it when going back on.

Andy,

As of 2 years ago AutoZone was still stocking them as well as wiper motors. Pretty sure the blower motor was $20 bucks. I thought about investing in them!

I have done this several times, its easy. Prop the hood on that side with a broom handle or stick. Take a small piece of a 2x4 and put it between the hinge and inner fender, take out the three hinge to fender bolts and slide the hood and hinge forward and take out the motor.

Found the motor but not the cage yet. I hope LMC has them. I'm fixing to check.

Just checked LMC they have the same one listed for both AC and non AC. Cages and motors are the same part numbers.
