1971 C30 rear axle needed
I am looking for a NOS or used rear axle assembly for a 1971 C30. The one I currently have in my truck is geared too high and would like to replace whole unit rather than replace gears only. If you know of a unit in good condition please contact me at joesapp@ellijay.com.

fyi, your rear axle (ho 72) has a drop out centersection like a Ford 9 inch rear axle, so it is easier to change gears. if you have a dually then you most likely have 5.14 gears. The highest gears you can get are aftermarket 3.90s, but rumor has it that they are no longer made. You can find 4.11 and 4.56 commonly in our trucks. Hope this helps.

Didn't GM make 2 types of rearends, the 7000# and the 11,000# for 1 tons? Some of those same rearends are said to be in 3/4t's also, I think......
