92 burb -> Tranny type
Does anyone happen to know what transmission is in a 92 1/2 burb. Is it still a 700r4 or the newer overdrive?

Im pretty sure it will be the 1L60e. I think you did not get the 1l80e unless it was a 3/4 Ton HD and above. The 1L60e is basically an electornically controlled 700r4.

Actually, I think 92 had 700R4, I think the 1l60e was in 93.
I KNOW this to be true in the smaller S-10 truckettes. look under hood on the throttle body for a kickdown (TV) cable. If it has one, then it is a 700R4, if no cable then it is the 1L60E. |

I believe even the L60E transmissions use a TV cable. I think my Yukon has one.

92 is 4L60 trans.
The "E" trans started in 93. The normal 4L60 has the TV cable and the 4L60E does not.
