Question fuel sending unit

i need to change my sending unit in fuel tank and was looking at lmc catalog and gmcpauls site and they show different ones.we have another tank with a good one in it.its a 72 v8 trk and i want to put the sending unit in my 69 was a il6.will the sending unit enterchange or is there a difference in them.thanks

The fuel line size is different for the I6. It's smaller than the V8.

The '72 truck also has a return line.....i don't think the '69's unit has one.

And that stupid vent deal.
I would check on the parts board...plenty of ppl are putting the tanks under the bad, so there is bound to be a cheap 69 sending unit out there. V8 will have 3/8 line while an inline would be 5/16.
