Nv3500 seals
i have a leaking transmission its coming from the top of the stick shift dripping down tranny casing, is this the culprit needs replaced here never done this before , this easy to do guys?

also a rubber gasket i think i will replace around shift column

I had a similar situation with my 5LM60, leaking from the top. Actually, the problem was my knuckles hitting the dash. The bolts that hold the shifter housing were loose, the threads in the aluminum transmission case were stripped. I finally mustered enough courage and put in a heli-coil type part. That second seal that you posted, I should have replaced that, it was chewed up. I put gasket goo on it instead.
