Electrical help please
I have a red wire that runs across the top of the fire wall and goes into the fuse box, it is spliced into two yellow or tan wires in the loom on the passenger side of the engine. The red wire gets really hot while the engine is running. I disconnected the red wire and the engine won't run.
I have no wiring diagram yet, (just ordered a schematic). Does anyone know where the red wire should be connected? |

Re: Electrical help please
Thanks to hatzie, you can download the year-specific wiring diagrams here --> http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=545416
As a general rule, the factory wiring used the same color wire throughout each circuit. So the splice from red to yellow (or tan) wires is an indication that someone has made some modifications with wire colors that likely won't match the diagrams. That means you might have to do some additional detective work, tracing the wires to see where they go. |
