Bumper guards from different vehicles other than 67-72

Has anyone ever used/modified to fit a different year truck/van or vehicle make bumper guards for our 67-72 bumpers? I am just wanting a cheaper alternative and want to know what to look for when at the yards picking.

Chrome and rubber guard that wrap perpendicular to the bumper, sometimes they are painted the same color as the bumper

Most bumper guards are the same style for different vehicles. The only difference is the contour cut to fit the bumper. Any bumper guard you find that wasn't made for these trucks with need to be made to fit.

I have a pair I picked up at a swap meet for cheap. They aren't for our trucks but I haven't identified them yet. I thought about modifying them to fit the Dually front bumper. I need to post some pictures of them somewhere to see if anyone can identify them.

Thanks. That's what my suspicion was. Sounds like a fun project to attempt if the price is right. I want something with a dull chrome finish to match my bumper. New would stand out too much. Modification of any make vehicle bumper guards opens my options when searching at the yard or vehicles being parted out.

I picked up one this weekend. I'll get a picture for you later.
