heater/ac door rubbers
I'm trying to restore my heater box. A critter has made a condo out of the inside and it chewed up all the rubber off the interior door flaps. I went to several salvage yards and the critter must of had relatives moved in every truck I checked out. They also were chewed up. Does any body know if there is a company who sells replacement doors for these boxes?

Yeah, I thought of that. But my problem is I don't know exactly what they are supposed to look like or size. These boxes if in good shape can be a pain to operate correctly. If the seal is to big, the slide control wont work right or the knob breaks off. If the rubber is to small, it leaks like mine does now. The air travels around the door because there isn't any rubber to seal it properly. What ever made a nest in there (my guess a mouse) chewed the rubber off all around the doors to the metal. The door where the heater core is looks to be a weird shape.

I used truck tire inner tube to repair mine. Got the inner tube for free at the local tire shop. My originals were completely gone so I over sized them a bit and then trimmed them to fit. As said above I used longer pop rivets with washers on the back of the rivets.
