Polished 250 Parts
Getting ready to rebuild my 250 inline 6 engine and paint it but cant seem to find a polished fan pulley and fan. Could also use a polished crank shaft pulley. Also a polished alternator. Any other suggestions would be great.
Would love to get some recommendations and pics from those who have already done this. |

Re: Polished 250 Parts
When I had the L6 in my Chevy II, I sent those items off to the chrome plater. For the alternator, I took mine apart and had the housing chromed, but these days, there are a lot of aftermarket companies that offer really nice assembled alternator units and higher amps with the housing already chromed.

Re: Polished 250 Parts
Ya Ive been online for days searching but not much luck. I actually have the original generator in my truck. I thought about having it chromed or powder coated.

Re: Polished 250 Parts
Powdercoating will look great, and be less expensive than chrome. Lots of colour choices, including some shiny ones.

Re: Polished 250 Parts
I could be wrong but I thought that the water pump pulley and fan for a 230/250 are the same as a SBC? The alternator would definitely be the same. The crank pulley would definitely be different.

Part number 60-14210 from Orange county truck and car shop. Bit smaller than stock but seems to work fine.

Re: Polished 250 Parts
I have a 250 power steering set up and look the numbers up and it is the same as a sbc for the water pump pulley.

Hey tj can you show me an up close picture of how you got your carburetor linked to throttle? I am having a hard time figuring out how to get my Edelbrock setup.
