Rear A/C brace
Anyone run the factory A/C compressor without the rear brace? The old bracket doesn’t work on a vortec manifold.

Re: Rear A/C brace
The normal top front and rear compressor braces and the bracket to attach the rear brace to the intake would not work with the Vortec heads on my GM crate engine. Here's a picture that shows the 3 pieces I made to replace these.

Re: Rear A/C brace
Mine never had the front extra brace. I'll have to work on a rear bracket for the brace. I was just wondering how much it is really needed, seems like a lot of support.

Re: Rear A/C brace
FWIW, my stock rear brace didn't work on my small block with edelbrock intake. I made a new one out of a piece of flat stock.
