My '67 C-10 orig had the 6cyl, 3 spd and gauges on the dash. When I bought it, there was a 350, 4spd and gauges.

After driving for the last 6 months, the temp gauge has never registered above the 2nd line near the 'C'old, even in 90+ degree weather. Now on 30 degree days, it barely moves off the 'C'.

The sensor on the 350 looks like its the right one for gauges - it's got the little round button type connection.

Sensor reads 800 ohms cold and 45 ohms hot, so I figure I should get more movement on the gauge, but nope.

Does that sound like the right range? Is there a different sensor for 6s and 8s?

make sure some bone head did not use teflon tape on this sender
has to be grounded to the engine....
and if you want a new temp. gauge i got one that i will part out of the bezal i had for sale....

What temp is your T-stat?
These guages work on a graduated scale. The needle won't hardly move untill you hit 185 ish and then from 185 to 200 will take up 75% of the needle sweep. (rough estimate on the numbers...but you get the idea)
If you have a 160 T stat, the needle will hardly move at all.
A 180 would do about what you describe.
