crimson red?

I'm in the middle of trying to decide on colors, interior and exterior, for my 72 K10. When looking at the brochure for interior options, while I tend to not like red cars or trucks all that much, every time I see the black custom deluxe interior with the red, I can't help but think how good it looks. And then when I look down at the truck posted, I actually really like the white top with the red (my truck originally had a white top so I have the molding studs).

Can I assume this is 514 crimson red? As I've seen other previously post, it does have a bit of orange tint to it in certain light. Which makes crimson a really weird name for this red, as crimson is, well, like U of Alabama's color(s).

Re: crimson red?

Looks like hugger orange which the best color in 67-72 C10 imo
Hugger also gone by the name carosol red.
Red/orange. Cherokee red I think.
Haven’t hear of crimson red before but looks the same?
In different light the color looks red. Other light looks orange.

Re: crimson red?

Tom, here is an original paint 514 primary color medium red - sameyrasmea's 72 super. Gives you a good idea how the 514 often appears orange in some light, but it is indeed medium red. I have an original 72 sales brochure that has the pic you posted, but of course has faded a little over time, just like the posted one clearly has. The one in the brochure I have definitely looks like 514 red. Sameyrasmea's is one of the best examples I've seen of a correct, original 514 red. Hope that helps. I agree, the original red with black interior is a good combo - my uncle had one as I recall, and I had one shortly after high school, same combo. For some reason that combo just screams 1972 to me.
