Will this seat fit a 1965 GMC cab
I am looking at a really clean split-bench (60/40) out of an "88-99" Chevy truck... I have a '65 GMC cab that I want to put them in.
Seller is claiming they will fit 60-72 without modification. Is he correct in making this statement? Thank you in advance for your input!

Re: Will this seat fit a 1965 GMC cab
I have a bench seat from a '95 C-10 in my '66 C-10, the exact same seat shown in the link in the post above. If my memory is correct, the front mounting holes lined up but the rear did not. Two new holes, done deal.....

On another note;
After looking at some threads about seats on the forum, I might just get my bench seat re-upholstered and keep it.

Other than having to make a few new mounting holes in the floor, I don't see any reason why those seats wouldn't fit in your truck. 57 in. is the correct overall width. A tape measure would tell the whole story.

Re: Will this seat fit a 1965 GMC cab
Thanks for the response; I'm still trying to decide which route I want to go. They look like pretty nice seats...

I have a Glide bench seat frame in my OT Tudor Sedan that I wanted to have trimmed with some padding and cheap vinyl material so that I could use it on a temporary basis until I have the rest of the interior done. I was finally able to get him down to $450.00. A lot of money for an ugly seat. I think trimming your oem bench seat is gonna cost you a lot more than what you can buy that split seat for unless you want to go across the border. |

Those mounting brackets look like the 88-98 style to me. That's probably what they started out as, but have been recovered

Those should fit. Plus they have already been covered. You can make them work.

Re: Will this seat fit a 1965 GMC cab
As long as your width isn’t too wide the seats should be fine. Even if you have to do some fabrication on the seat frame. Shoot, I have the front seats from a 2002 suburban in my 63 c10. The seat frame needs a little bit more work on the center console/ middle seat but with a welder you can make it work.

Re: Will this seat fit a 1965 GMC cab
I picked up the seats today. They look great!
My existing brackets won't work with the new seats and the new seat brackets don't work with my floorboard. Looks like it's time to fabricate something... Unfortunately, it's going to be a while before I will have time to work on it. Thanks again for the info guys.
