power brake booster

can one use a 70 power brake booster on a 71 if the swap the prop valve to a drum disk?

The 70 and earlier was a double diaphragm the 71 and later was more of a pancake looking shape single diaphragm as long as the proportioning valve is correct for your vehicle they will work together but you will have to shorten the diaphragm push rod on the 70 double diaphragm to work with a 71-72 disc/drum master cylinder.

It is much simpler and less hassle to just buy a complete master cylinder, power vacuum booster and proportioning valve as a matched set.
