Who has the best prices on lift kits?? i want to buy a complete kit i need enough lift to fit 39's under it.

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm ![]() |

If you want cheap JCwhitney carries rough country and they ship pretty cheap, but I don't think rough country makes 8" suspension lifts. You could go with a 6" suspension and 3" body and I think that will clear 39's.

6 suspension, 3 body will NOT clear 39s if you plan on doing any sort of wheeling AT ALL. here's a pic of Tim's truck with 6" suspension, 3" body, and 38.5" Super Swampers, he had to hack the fenders to get them to clear properly.

I'm going off of the tire fitment table and coloradok5 their table shows 8" suspension lift will clear 39's so i thought a 6" and 3" would making total of 9"

That is the minimum.Any off road and you will hit your fenders.

I think it depends on how you lift it, I suspect with all new springs you can fit bigger tires than if you use blocks and/or add-a-leafs. Also the brand of lift seems to make a difference too.

I wish it was as easy as saying " I need a certain lift that is so many inches and I want to clear a given tire size, say 39" tires". It's just not as cut and dry as that, other factors need to be considered. Such as body style (what year) and wheel width and backspacing.
I, for example, have an 8" suspension lift with no body lift and my 35" tires do rub. They rub because I'm running 14" wide rims with very minimal backspacing, 3 5/8" to be axact. With a much narrower tire and wheel combo, I could probably fit 39's under my 8" lift. So, you really need to decide on what wheel/tire combo your going to run so you can determine exactly how much lift your going to need. Just trying to be helpful, let us know what you end up going with. Rob

Totally depends on how much you get it crossed up and compressed.
I have 6" and 36" swampers and they've hammered my front fenders. If you're getting away with huge tires and small lift w/o extensive cutting, you're not wheeling it hard enough. AND your suspension doesn't flex. Tuff Country has good prices, and relatively flexy springs up to 6" lift. Superlift, Skyjacker and Rancho are stiff as hell, and will keep your tires out of the fenders better for a show poodle (albeit rancho doesn't make anything bigger than 4"...and you'll need more than that with 39s...unless you plan to WHACK your fenders) so...all depends on how you wanna use it. -M |

Chevy GuyBC, i had to hack the front only where you see primer, just cut the fender in a triangle, left the lip then just hammered it in a bit, works fine..
ill be cutting them soon enough and hopefully will get some nice 40's _____________________________________________________ We might make you laugh,but if you have to cut the fenders,then the lift alone is not enough.I have 35's on my 72 blazer with 4"lift.It clears fine for the street.I couldn't take it off road with out banging the fenders.

You also have to consider the actual tire height. Some 35 inchers actually only measure out to a 34 ect.

I plan on running a 4" suspension on my truck with 35x12.5" tires on 15x8" rims with no less than 3.5" backspacing. That should clear my fenders or maybe minimal cutting to clear the tires. I'm willing to hack my fenders some mainly because when it becomes a baby truck I can put new ones on for a fair price. It'll need new paint anyways

Long as you keep the tires and wheels narrow and not go with really wide swampers you can clear taller tires with less lift.

run youre 6 inch,,lots cheaper than 8,, and invest in a good llokin set of flares to trim ,, thats my advice,, i personally like a fender flare done right,, mine on my blazer are actually 68 corvette fenders cut and molded into my fenders and quarters,, in a 68 i ran a 4 inch susp 3 inch body and 44 inch hawgs,, trimmed alot from the fron ,,none from the rear,,, whatever else needed trimmed got trimmed in the first set of ruts,,hahahamy blaze is 8 and 3 with 39 inch mickeys 18.5 wideoon 14 wide rims

Thanks alot guys, i can go two ways i can go with a 71 3/4 4x4 or go with a 87 3/4 4x4 but either way i go i will be using the body from the 71 with a 68 front clip. i think mudder67 has done this before i do want plenty of lift. want be going off road a lot but it will be nice to know that i can.
