4l60E questions

Installed a 4L60e behind the LQ4 6.0 in my K10. Bought trans from an older transmission rebuilder who works out of his house. Transmission replaced a TH350 so I added the wires to my harness for the 4L60e as they were not part of the original plan..duh..took the original tune out of the PCM and segment swapped the 4l60 in place of the 4l80 on HPtuners.

When I first started the truck it had a vibration from the torque converter. Torque converter is a 2000 stall..stock is apparently 1600 rpm. Not happy with the way the truck starts off because the stall is so high?

Trans seems to shift good, but my VSS is out a bit (Dakota Digital on speedo cable). Because I didn't have HPtuners when I built the truck I had the tuner use stock 128000 pulses as I didn't know any better..my Iphone GPS reads 18mph....but VCM scanner says 10 mph. I can correct this.

What would you recommend as next steps? I am going to pull the converter for sure as it does not function like I think it should..

Re: 4l60E questions

IMHO....go back to a stock convertor with the 1600 stall speed...you will notice an immediate improvement in both driveability and performance....

2000 stall speed may not seem like much, but its always a best guess value of the changes made inside the convertor.

The fact it has a vibration makes me think its not balanced correctly....

Re: 4l60E questions

Update: removed the higher stall converter and replaced with a stock stall one. I also removed the Dakota digital signal interface, and am just using the pulse sending unit on my speedo cable. Re programmed ECM to accept 8000 pulses per mile. Still needs some fine tuning, but works good.
