AC install tips

1972 C10. Came with factory air. I'll be installing a Vintage Air Sure-Fit system. I put a similar system in a 72 Chevelle and discovered that there was some tweaking involved. Any pointers from those who have installed VA in their C10 would be appreciated. Thanks

Just curious why you dont want to use the original system?

Just follow the instructions sent to you. It’s a straightforward install.

Re: AC install tips

Astro-Balls: Too many missing parts with old system. Plus it hasn't been functioning for years. If I wanted to keep everything original, you bet I'd go with the factory AC.
jessemthompson: Thanks! Good to know - but I can screw up a free lunch. ;=)

Re: AC install tips

I removed the passenger side inner fender so I could get to the old heater box & fan. Am I better off leaving it out until the VA is installed, or should I put it back in now? Thanks

You can install the vintage air with the fender on. There’s no real advantage to having it off.
