Sometimes you look and realize its all worth it

With everything going on and also cause I've been working mucho overtime I hadn't taken my truck out yet this Spring and it's been sitting since October. Yesterday I got up was moping around and thought I'm gonna get my truck out of storage so off I went. Opened the garage door unhooked the Battery Tender and 3 pumps on the gas and she fired right up. Took her for a short cruise then came home to get some lunch and snapped the attatched pic to send to a fellow truck enthusiast friend. Looking at the pic I realized after the time I've worked on it and had upgrades done to the truck it was worth it as she is gorgeous, reliable and a pleasure to own. After lunch went to the car wash then another Cruise to that friends place then home and back in the garage till next time. Does everyone pretty much feel as i do about their truck(s)..

I get ansy in the spring when the weather starts getting nice. I have already driven the '67 Panel Truck and the '72 Dually quite a bit and I enjoy every minute of it.

Why yes I do feel like you! I am looking to take the Burban out of service for a week or so and I could have tore into in on Thursday, but I put it off until Monday so I could drive it this weekend.

Nice looking truck! I get to drive mine pretty much year-round here in California, but I still drive it less than I would like.

Re: Sometimes you look and realize its all worth it

Yes sir its definitely worth it. In my case it’s my old trucks and my Camaro that just have a way of brightening my day. I’m getting to the point where In a few short weeks I’ll have my K20 back on the road for the first time since February of 2017. It’s a great feeling to look back at where it was 5 years ago when I bought it to now. Great looking truck you’ve got there! I didn’t paint mine this go around, that’s going to be a few years down the road. Mine is 557 paint. I love both the 556 and 557 trucks. Definitely 2 of the best factory schemes.

I agree. I've had mine a year now. Just got it road worthy. Driven it 5 times in the past 2 months to work. 3 times is past week. She's a gas hog but I have no regrets

The simplest thing to do is use it's name. That way people know what you are talking about. Numbers are for books and names are for conversation. Plus the code changes for the same color depending on paint scheme. No need to be all technical, just say what it is. If I need to know a code I'll look it up.

Definitely. I drive my ‘67 to work when there’s no rain in the forecast (I plan to replace the door and window seals this summer). It’s a wonderful life!

Absolutely stunning. I love it. Is your truck static dropped or bagged? What size wheels and tires are you running? Your truck looks beautiful.

For Sure. Don't mind the no carpet as I'm not installing till I replace heater core, which I finally found one, as although my heater core isn't leaking I thought if it sensed new carpet in the truck the 48 year old heater core would want to see how much antifreeze the new carpet could soak up. Pictured steering wheel is also coming out as one like pictured one is sitting in a box in the basement and going in as soon as I get a chance.

Beautiful truck (that interior, ...wow
But more importantly, you hit the nail on the head, ...we're pretty darn lucky in the big scheme of things.
With everything that's going on, to still have our jobs and how blessed are we to even have 'toys' in the garage. Sure, we may not get them out every day, but boy it sure is great when we do. Heck, I'm still waiting for parts and feel darn lucky to even have a truck to tinker with when I have time.
Great post, and great thread for sure
