68 hood contour

I have two 68 hoods and the both have a slight belly in them. When I lay a straight edge on top of the crown there's about quarter inch gap in the middle. Is this how they were made of are they both bent? Thanks

I dont have a 68 hood but my guess is that the foam is missing from the under the hood bracing. My 70 hood has worn out foam supports and vibrates like crazy.

They should actually have a bit of bow up. They're both bent. Very common on 50 plus year old trucks. It doesn't take much to bend them down. I've had good luck with a 3/4 inch peice of wood shaped a little round to beat the ridge back up.
