Shop Recommendation - Portland, OR
The transfer case in my K1500 is leaking pretty bad and I am looking to get it resealed - the last shop I went to had a transmission in and out twice so I am looking for somewhere (preferably on the east side) that won't have me coming back with the same issue. Any recommendations are appreciated!

Re: Shop Recommendation - Portland, OR
I have had good results with Marty's Transmissions. If I remember correctly they are 90th and Sandy.
Just out of curiosity who disappointed you?

Re: Shop Recommendation - Portland, OR
The shop used to be on 75th and Foster but it looks like they are no longer there. I would probably have gone back but it was frustrating to have my transmission serviced, taken back in because it was leaking where the lines come out, and then have it still have a little bit of a leak. They were fair and didn't charge me for the second trip in, but after the "experience" I had with Charlies drop shop I've been gun shy to get back into a shop.

Unfortunately Charlie sold the business quite a while back and the new owners just didn't have the same knowledge or ethics. Personally I would avoid Woody's 4x4 for this kind of work. There are things they are good at but general maintenance isn't one of them.

Re: Shop Recommendation - Portland, OR
My truck was probably the last one Charlie did at the shop on Stark before he moved to central Oregon, the end result is good but we had a less than favorable time getting there. I'll give Marty's a call, thank you for the rec!
